About Me
By day I work in academia as a cognitive psychologist and in my spare time I like to paint. My latest series is called Lost In The Forest, where I invite you to step into a surreal forest-world where nature intersects with memory and perception. I’m inspired by the Futurism artistic movement of the early 20th century and also Surrealism, particularly the representation of simultaneity, which combines memories, present impressions, and anticipation of future events. Each piece in the series is painted by hand with acrylic paints on a deep edge canvas (100 x 70 cm). I spend around half an hour painting each night, so each piece usually take months to complete. I get there eventually though :)
