About Me
By day I work in academia as a cognitive psychologist and one of the things I like to do in my spare time is paint. My latest series is called Lost In The Forest, where I invite you to step into a surreal forest-world where nature intersects with memory and perception. I’m inspired by the Futurist and Surrealist artistic movements, particularly the representation of simultaneity, which combines memories, present impressions, and anticipation of future events. Each piece in the series is painted by hand with acrylic paints on a deep edge canvas (100 x 70 cm). I spend around half an hour painting each night, so each piece usually take months to complete. I get there eventually though :)
I am currently finishing up the Lost In The Forest series, and turning my attention to a new one entitled, Beyond The Forest. Watch this space!
